Letters from 1982

This blog is going to be a collection of letters, mostly from my grandfather, Howard Ogier White to his family.  They are his letters from the "round robin".  The way they worked it, the first person would write one letter and send it to the next person; the next person would add their letter to the mix and send it to a third person; the third person would do the same and so on, until the last person would send it back to the first one, who would swap out the old letter for a new one, and it would continue, going round and round.

Howard kept most of the letters he wrote.  There are also a smattering of other letters that were in with the round robin letters.  I'll try to have everything in date order, with the oldest being the last ones that I post.

As we go along, I will try to introduce the people mentioned in the letters.

Olive Dean is my grandfather's third wife.  Anna is my oldest sister, James (Jay) and Kathryn (Katie) are her children  The others mentioned are Howard's siblings or in-laws.  I'll get that straight at some point and update this post.  (Thea is me, and Paul Jr., my oldest son.)  Mary Ann is Howard's second wife.

Richard and Mearlene are my Uncle and Aunt -- Jeff and Jon (Jonathan) are their sons.

Dessie was my grandmother.
